Start a capstone collection

Send us an email
Send an email to sdr-contact@lists.stanford.edu mentioning your department/program and your interest in a capstone or student works collection.
Onboarding session
We'll reply promptly to schedule a 45-minute onboarding session on Zoom with a member of the SDR team. We'll also connect you with the librarian liaison for your subject area, who may be able to assist you with your collection. In the onboarding meeting we'll walk through:
- The basics needed to create the collection, including
- Collection title, brief description, and email contact address
- Configuration options: deposit release and visibility, license, and terms of use
- The review workflow option and how to add other instructors or department staff as fellow collection managers or reviewers
- How to invite students to deposit (and considerations on when)
- Supporting resources, such as the instruction template and how-to video for students
- What you can expect when the students start to deposit
It's entirely possible to get your collection setup started (and maybe finished) by the meeting's end.
End of term tasks
After all the deposits for the quarter are made, you'll want to:
- Be sure to review these for approval or return to the student for modification
- Let us know if you do or do not want the collection to be made available in our library catalog SearchWorks
- Be prepared to clean up the list of depositors when you add new students next year
