Spring pilot for new self-deposit application

The SDR team has been busy over the winter designing, coding, and testing a new self-deposit application that streamlines and improves the deposit process for both depositors and collection managers. We have just completed work that will allow the new app to be piloted for capstone and thesis collections this spring quarter. 

Highlights of the new application include:

• Home page: info you're looking for is now easier to find
• Site design: refreshed look and redesigned form layout with left navigation for an easier-to-understand workflow
• File uploading: streamlined and more intuitive
• Bulk participant entry: no more entering depositors, managers, or reviewers one at a time
• Pre-defined form fields: collection manager can pre-fill some form fields that will apply to all deposits in the collection. This makes depositing quicker and less error-prone, and deposit review easier!
• PDF previews: files in pdf format are now automatically displayed for reading in-browser without the need to download

You can see these new features in our work cycle demo video. In the summer we plan to complete the rest of the work that's needed to be able to move all of our depositors over to the new application.
